About British children sent to Australia without their parents under various scheme/auspices and the disgraceful treatment often meted out to them. Well principally this Fairbridge Farm School but I think others get a mention.
Which puts them on a par with the Aboriginal 'stolen generations', actually. An indication of how life was.
Haven't read it all because I find it too depressing.
